The 2020 Jeep Cherokee has three engine options, each with their own impressive levels of efficiency and power. The first engine is a 2.0-liter Turbo engine. This engine delivers up to 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0L Turbo engine also achieves a fuel efficiency of 31 mpg on the highway. The second engine is a 2.4-liter Tigershark® MultiAir® 2 engine. This engine gets up to 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. The highway fuel economy for this engine is also 31 mpg.
The third engine option is a 3.2-liter Pentastar® V6 engine with Engine Stop/Start technology. This engine delivers up to 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque. The highway fuel economy for this engine is 29 mpg. However, when equipped with this engine, the 2020 Jeep Cherokee can tow up to 4,500 pounds.
2020 Jeep Cherokee 4×4 Systems
Another way the 2020 Jeep Cherokee tackles every adventure is with its available 4×4 systems. One 4×4 system is the Jeep Active Drive. This system will automatically engage four-wheel drive when you are driving on unpredictable road conditions. It will also actively monitor the tires for slipping. Another 4×4 system is the Jeep Active Drive Lock. This system is only available for the Trailhawk® model. The Jeep Active Drive Lock comes with a rear locker to increase traction when off-roading.
